REACH to participate in DEQ Workgroups on Animal Feeding Operations Permits and Digester General Permits

REACH is participating in a series of workgroups on Animal Feeding Operations and Digester Permits hosted by the NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

These April meetings will include a broad spectrum of stakeholders who have experience and knowledge related to animal operations, digesters, community interests and regulations. These participants will include community groups, environmental justice organizations, environmental advocacy organizations, state and federal agencies, academic and industry representatives.

In addition to the technical stakeholder workgroups, DEQ is also hosting a series of four public hearings on draft permits that will take place in the fall.
